Tonnara di Bonagia is best described as an old style tuna fishing village. All the rebuilding has been done to follow the original plans. The museum, protected by the Ministry of Culture, depicts how the catching of tuna, the famous 'Mattanza' took place. The resort is located in the village of Bonagia on the north west coast of Sicily. This area is steeped in history and for those interested in archaeology there are many places to visit. It is an area of much natural beauty and has a nature reserve near S.Vito lo Capo and the Egadi islands, just off the coast of Trapani.
